We still have no water coming in from the public line. They have been working for two days now trying to get everything put back together. We are saving one tank of the public line water to filter through machines that we have here to have drinking water for the kids and to have water to make baby bottles. So I hired someone to carry buckets of water in from the river. It is still rather dirty from the last rain. If you asked me how it feels after taking a bath in the water....my answer would be clean...but itchy.

But it does settle some after it sits for a while. I think we filled them both up 6 times today! That is a lot of water. A few years ago we were without water for over a month. Two or three days is nothing. Hopefully we will be back to normal tomorrow.

I was blessed with everything that I put on my last minute needs list. YEAH! Some items came in on the semi-container. Someone in Indy purchased a DVD/VHS player and a NEW TV! We are all so excited about it. One of the first movies I put in was Bengi. Some of the kids were scared and ran and hid. They had never seen anything like this before(the TV). But most of them LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. It is next to impossible to find kids tapes in Creole. So all are in english. IF you would like to help out hang on to any old tapes your kids have out grown. We will put them on the next container!

Thanks to all that helped out with the the recent campaign for RHFH. Here are the totals that we have so far.

We also had 13 commit to be monthly partners with a total of $980 per month. We are so thankful and are praising God for the help and supports that HE is sending in for the Rescue Center. He is so God! Please continue to lift us up in prayer and stayed tuned for what God is doing here. It is exciting, it is refreshing and HE is doing it! Are you excited yet? I am!

Busy day today here. Two kids already admitted into the RC and its not even a full swing clinic day.

TWO PRAYER NEEDS FOR THIS WEEK:

**The clinic will be getting inspected sometime this week by the government health department.

**The local water system was damaged last night in a when it rained. A large part of a mountain fell and broke the pipe in several places. This means we will have no running water for several days. We have some large tanks that we have a small amount of water saved back. You would be amazed at the amount of water you go through with 60(+) children. (Yikes did I just write 60+). There is a group of men working today to begin fixing it. Pray all goes well!

Liberson is still here. We had to drain some more fluids off. He is in better spirits and asking for meat 24/7. Here is the before picture.

His little arms are so thin and tiny.

We had the radio on that day and he was actually trying to dance. Funny guy!

These two brothers came in to clinic this week. There father died four years ago and this left the mother to provide for all children. There are five. The two brothers are having a difficult time gaining weight and keeping up with the other kids there age. Just not enough food for all of them.

This is Lomy, he is five years old, and weighs 28 pounds.

This is Jonas, he is 3 years old, and weighs 22 pounds.

There feet are both full of bugs that have infested their feet and layed eggs under the skin. Each day we have to dig the sacks with the tiny worms out of the bottom of there foot. Very painful.

Pray for the mother and here other kids. She weeds people's gardens and sell produce from her garden when she has it. She seems to be trying her best to make ends meet, but can't.

This child came to clinic this week. She was 15 months and weighted 11 pounds. I was going to admit her in the RC, but wanted to test her for HIV first as she was losing weight very fast and had some weird skin stuff going on. This is the parents first child they are both in their early 20's. The child has breastfed for 15 months. She tested positive for HIV. We sent the whole family to be tested at a large lab and they will return next Thurday so we can talk. So young and there first child. They both were very concerned about her and her health. Pray for them. Pray for them as they will have to make some decision about her care and life soon.

I am needing some help. If any of you happen to have a few minutes of free time, could you look some info up for me. All the kids in the kids in the RC sit on a large piece of carpet that is cover by some blanket or sheets. We have to change it often and wash it. I was thinking something like this.

The less pieces the better. I have seen some that have games and stuff in the middle, this just will not work with so many kids together in one place. Any ideas?

Plastic pants to put over the diapers. I normally buy this material and have someone here in Haiti sew them. Any one have any other suggestions for cloth diapering? Remember I have at least 50 kids in diapers that is ALOT of diapers and plastic pants that I go through daily. I am looking for cheap but sturdy.

You really do not see a lot of butterflies here around our place. We have a citron tree in our front yard. Every morning it has over 20 butterflies on it. The boys love them.

Remember Luberson that came last week...

Well he has been doing fair this past week. Monday I was spending some time in the RC with the kids. I noticed that his stomach was not looking very normal. It had always been swollen but this was way out of control. He could not sit or lay very well. I called Lori and it was around 7pm and we both thought we would wait until the next day to do something. He began to gasp for air. I proped him up with pillows to try and help him out some.

He finally turned over on his stomach, stuck his behind up in the arm and was trying to hold himself up. He said that was the only way he could get air. We decided to not wait until morning.

We were able to drain off about 1/2 gallon of fluids over a few hours time off his stomach area. After about 30 minutes he was able to breath better. He asked Lori for some money to buy some food the next day. When I walked back in he asked if I would give him some $$$ as well. He wanted the money in a bag in his pocket. He was feeling better. He slept well and was up early the next morning. His mama came and visited and I told her the story of the night before. I was glad to tell her how God had saved her son and not having to tell her that he had died. When I talked to him later he said I had forgot to give him some money. Funny guy! He is walking around today and eating. Praise God.

Today makes three years since my mom and best friend died. We are all missing her and are remembering her today. She was the backbone of our ministry here in Haiti. I started off this morning going through some pictures of her. I will only post a few and below will tell you why.

Mom spent many, many, many hours at her desk. She was either reading her Bible, doing paperwork or writing thank you letters to supports, friends and family.

Here she is in nursing school.

So I was planning to continue with some more pictures. About 10am one of the ladies came up and said that a church was here to pray for us. So I went down to invite them in. I thought it was a small group from one of the local churches as they come and pray for the kids or us from time to time. Not this time it was the whole Catholic church! They had to come in- in two group and they FILLED up the RC. It was well over 200 people. I asked at the beginning of last week for all the churches to be in prayer for us and the need of the RC. I asked them for strength and encouragement. They prayed for us, they prayed for the kids, they prayed for God to touch the hearts of many to keep the doors of the RC opened. I was so touched! Many also remembered that today made three years since Madame Zach (that is what they called mom) had died. They came to enocurage us. Here is a picture of them leaving after prayer, scripture and singing.

I shook as many hands as I could and kissed as many cheeks as I could to thank them for the enocuragement.

After the second group left I was planning to return to my picture search. But they told me that there was two more churches waiting to come and pray for us! God was with us today. I could feel HIM! I could see him in the faces of many. In all there were SEVEN churches that came today. One church brought a keyboard and sang songs. All stood in the heat and prayed and rejoiced.

Catholic, Church of God, Episcopal, Nazarene, Baptist were the ones I remember.

Christains of the same body coming together to pray and encourage! It was a great day indeed. We finished up around 12:30pm.

Now if you have been to a church in Haiti you will know what I am talking about. It was not a little short prayer---it was from the heart, crying out to God, from the deepest part of there soul.

Here are a few of the prayers I heard.

"God please help the Zachary family, we did not even ask for them to come here. When we first saw them we did not know who they were, we did not know anything about them, we followed them to see who they were, thank you God for sending them to us, thank you for the blessing that we did not even ask for, God please touch the hearts of many in other countries, touch them and remind them that we need the Zachary family here, we need them to continue to help us"

"God give them strength, courage, and never leave them"

"Help them God to continue the work that we ourselves cannot do"

"God we used to see little caskets passing each week with dead kids, we do not see them anymore, send your blessing down on this place"

"God let them feel you"

There were many scriptures that were read, many hymns that were sung, it was a blessing that I will not forget. You may not believe it, but I know God sent them here today. He (and mom) wanted to remind me that He is there, He is with us, He will not fail, He is holding us up. We thank each of you for keeping us in your prayer and your encouragement in our hard times.
